3rd Correspondence

On accidentally learning about certain encryptions in the Hebrew text of the Pentateuch (which everyone seems to know about except Jehovah's Witnesses), I felt impelled to write and enquire why we as serious Bible students were never told of these intriguing inclusions.

My letter, with the enclosed reference, appears below, followed by the reply I received.

I was in fact so surprised by the reply I received (not only was it not from Brooklyn, but it deliberately avoided acknowledging the encryptions), that I immediately forwarded it to the Governing Body, together with a second letter expressing my dismay and disbelief.

My second letter appears below also. As you can probably guess though, I never did receive a reply from New York on this matter.

Dear Brothers

FASCINATING BIBLE SUBTLETIES NOT DISCUSSED

A subject not commented on in our literature prompts me to write this brief letter.

Apparently the Hebrew Scriptures contain numerous examples of subtle information transfer eg. the words "Torah" and "Jehovah" are cleverly encrypted in the Pentateuch (see attached photocopy). I have searched all our literature but have not found any commentary on these encryptions.

If Moses was inspired of God when he wrote the Pentateuch, then he was the one who encoded the hidden words. Surely such information should be made known. Why would we want to keep this from sincere Bible students?

Some see this silence as an attempt to hide a facet of the Bible which demonstrates it to be more man-made than we claim.

I look forward to your thoughts on this subjects.

Christian love and greetings.

Your brother

Dear Brothers

SURPRISED AT ANSWER SUPPLIED BY SOUTH AFRICAN BRANCH TO QUERY REGARDING BIBLE SUBTLETIES

Please refer to my letter to you dated 14 March 1996 (copy attached) and the South African branch reply to me dated 19 June 1996 (copy attached).

Please understand that I am not trying to waste your time by writing to you again on this subject - having served as an elder I realize how "side-issues" like these can at first appear to be irritating and seemingly unnecessary demands on one's time.

I am extremely surprised that in the reply to my question I am basically being encouraged to 'sweep the matter under the carpet' and pretend the subject does not exist!

My question is quite simple, do the words: TORAH TORAH YAWEH HAROT HAROT appear in the Pentateuch as the author (a Jewish nuclear physicist, not an apostate) claims (copy of his example attached), or don't they?

If they do, and if the author is being truthful (you should be able to tell from your knowledge of ancient Hebrew), then why has this phenomenon never been commented on in our literature?

Are we trying to hide something which seems to make the Bible appear more man-made than we claim it is?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Christian love and greetings.

Your brother
