Ivan the Terrible

This image of Hurricane Ivan, one of the strongest hurricanes on record, was taken Saturday 09.11.2004 from an altitude of about
230 miles by Astronaut Edward M. (Mike) Fincke, NASA ISS science officer and flight engineer, looking out the window of the
International Space Station (ISS). At the time, Ivan was in the western Caribbean Sea and reported to have winds of 257 km/h (160 mph).

NOTE: no stars are visible in the black sky. Does this mean the entire ISS programme is an elaborate hoax? Er, no. It simply means
the camera exposure time was such that stars (faint points of light) could not be recorded.
