Nemesis
21-05-00Greetings Astronomy Interest Group
Not since Carl Sagan penned the novel "Contact" has another such thrilling and
largely plausible science fiction novel been written.
I am describing the book "Nemesis" (image attached) written by Dr Bill Napier,
an astronomer at Armagh Observatory.
'The most exciting book I have ever read', is how renowned science fiction writer Arthur
C. Clarke describes the novel.
I have just finished reading it, and believe me, you're very likely to complete it in
under two days as well - if not sooner!
Dr Napier is an internationally recognised authority on the celestial hazard issue, and
you can learn more about him and his research at: www.arm.ac.uk/staff/billn.html
Now we eagerly await another exciting astronomy-related motion picture... :-)
