Hello AIG members (and a few others)

Just a quick reminder about our Blue Moon Party scheduled for Friday 30th April at Marist Brothers College, from about 7PM.

As you probably know by now, April is the second month this year that experiences a Blue Moon (the first was January). The last time we had two Blue Moons in a single year was in 1961 - and before that in the year 1885. The next year of double Blue Moons will be 2018!

So this month's final Blue Moon of the Millennium is certainly an occasion worth celebrating!

At the Blue Moon Party we will concentrate on observing the Moon through telescopes and binoculars and learning all sorts of interesting things about it.

Please come dressed in BLUE, bring along some BLUE snacks/eats/drinks (you'll need to be creative here.....!) and if you can, also some music featuring the words BLUE or MOON (I've compiled one cassette of 'Blue Moon' music already - but I can think of lots of songs I don't have..........).

To whet your appetite, attached is a close-up photo of the beautiful lunar crater named Copernicus - which has been clearly visible through binoculars this past week.......

Bye!
