A reminder of this year's final University of Natal astronomy meeting on Thursday
evening.
The Aurora
The physics department runs a number of experiments at South Africa's research base in
the Antarctic. One of these involves the filming of the Southern Lights or aurora (see
image attached).
In this week's meeting we will see a video which explains the formation
of the aurora, and some of the research done by the space physics group will be
discussed.
Also, the new University Astronomy Society T-shirt will be on sale for R30.

*Directions to lecture room S4, Science Block, University of Natal: travel to the top
of Francois Road, turn right into the University private road. Directly after boom gate
turn left and the Science Block is on the right.
